Pharm.D

The pharmacy council of India (PCI) recognized 6 year Pharm.D (a doctor of pharmacy) course and 3 year Pharm.D PB (post baccalaureate) in India, there is an increase in the scope of pharmacy to meet the ever-growing needs of healthcare industry

Pharm.D Advantage :

The duration of course shall be 6 years including 5 year of class room study (phase 1) and 1 year of internship or residency (phase 2) in speciality departments. During this intership period a student is exposed to actual clinical practice and acquires in-depth understanding of pharmacy practice concept so that he/she may become capable of functioning independently. Pharm.D is different in its course content from the undergraduate B.pharm and the Postgraduate M.Pharm course. However; it was more learning towards pharmaceutical industry than clinical practice. This gap was meant to be fulfilled by the Pharm.D programme. After successful completion of Pharm.D, the graduates enable to prefix the title of "Dr" for practising and they can work as clinical pharmacist, hospital pharmacist, nuclear pharmacist, researcher, Pharmacovigilance associate, oncology pharmacist, poison control pharmacist, psychiatric pharmacist, medical writer, medical advisor and regulatory pharmacist etc
